Lance Briggs, Shut. Up.

I'm as tired of Lance Briggs as I am of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. I don't have to have Lovie's patience and tolerance, he has crossed the line without having the talent to warrant it. Is this Terrell Owens? No, he is NEVER going to have the impact on the game that Owens can/could, but he acts like this now. He wasn't even the best linebacker on his team but he is throwing his weight around as if he is.

The Bears have invested in Briggs, and deserve the return which is allowed by league rules for him. They are the ones who drafted him, brought him into their system, and made him what he is. Without the Bears, Lance Briggs is an underacheiving college talent that slipped past other teams in the draft. Unless they can get great value for him, better than the Redskins are offering(swapping 1st round picks from 31st to 6th), he should be left to sit out, or play both the years he is obligated to play with the franchise tag.

Meanwhile, we can find someone else to fill his role and he can watch his stock plummet as yet another player reaps the benefits of playing with Biran Urlacher.

Ticket Hike No BIg Surprise

Who can be surprised that the McCaskey's raised ticket prices AGAIN. Let's face it, these people make other local team owners seem generous, and their arrogance, hypocrisy, and greed cannot be matched anywhere short of Bud Selig. It's tough to put this, an infrequent post, on such a negative note, but honestly it's something that has been brewing in my mind. I can just see them getting together at the country club, complaining about how much they are going to have to pay Lovie Smith over the next five years.

Speaking of Lovie's contract, I'm shocked they went as high as they did, but even the McCaskeys muct realize they no longer have carte blanche to do whatever they want in this town. They have held their loyal fans hostage, through the worst remodel job ever, which they also made the fans pay for, and through some terrible seasons. They raised prices two years ago after going 5-11??? At least this year there is something to pin it on.

Here is another point as long as I'm here venting, who the hell is Nate Clements?? Am I so far out of the loop that I barely recognize the name of the best defensive football player in the league? Does this guy have a skill set that warrants him drawing the record contract for a defensive player or is San Francisco once again just being fiscally irresponsible, mortgaging their team's future and present for a couple stars. I wonder at the intelligence of staking so much on a defensive player, especially on the West Coast where the fans go to the restroom when the offense is off the field.

This also ties into the McCaskey?Bears angle because raising the market like this just means we are surely going to lose everyone we have drafted on the Bears when they become free agents.
